TITLE OF PRESENTATION: Building and Sustaining University-Community Research Partnerships in an Urban Context: A Literacy Academy Trilogy

SUMMARY: This panel explored the evolution of successful models for creating and sustaining university-community partnerships in urban settings. These initiatives employed a capacity-building model for improving teacher effectiveness in urban schools and have seen significant results. Evidence of the model’s efficacy was provided, and the ecological factors that sustained these projects addressed.
